Small dark bees

A variety of small, dark bees also visit Claytonia. These bees are difficult to distinguish from one another, so you can call them all “small dark bee”. All have relatively few hairs, and are almost entirely dark. Some will have a bit of yellow on their faces, and the shape of the abdomen will vary. All of the small dark bees you will see are likely in the genera Lasioglossum, Hylaeus, or Ceratina.
